Nursing home negligence is happening more often and still many people aren’t educated enough about it. Did you know that they’re actually different types of neglect in nursing home to be aware of?
Medical neglect in a nursing home occurs when the facility fails to properly prevent any medical issues regarding the patient. This could include a lack of care for patients with diabetes or incidents that cause bedsores, infections, lacerations or cognitive issues.
Basic Needs Neglect
Basic needs neglect happens when the nursing facility fails to provide a reasonable amount of food or water, which could lead to malnutrition and other medical issue. It also includes when the facility fails to provide a clear and safe environment for their patients.
Personal Hygiene Neglect
Personal hygiene neglect occurs when the nursing home doesn’t have enough assistance and lacks in helping their residents with their personal space and personal hygiene like laundry, cleaning their home, bathing or brushing their teeth.
