How Long Can I Expect To Receive Child Support?

Under Louisiana law, child support is ordinarily ordered to be paid until the child reaches the age of majority.  However, if the child turns 18, but is enrolled as a full time student in good standing in a secondary school. the support continues until the child turns 19.  Louisiana law does not require support to be paid if the minor child is enrolled in college.
