I’ve Been Told Not To Speak Ill Of My Spouse In Front Of My Child, But I Know My Spouse Is Doing This All The Time. Why Can’t I Just Speak The Truth?

It can be devastating for your child to hear you bad mouthing his or her other parent.  What your child needs is permission to love both of you, regardless of any bad parental behavior.  The best way to support your child during this time is to encourage a positive relationship with the other parent.  it is not in your child’s best interest to stoop to the level of your spouse.
